NC Food Code Changes

Effective September 1, 2012 changes in rules governing food protection and sanitation of food establishments will change. Please see the attached rules and manual related to the recent adoption of the 2009 FDA Food Code in North Carolina. The following is a brief introduction of both:

This is the “new” Section .2600 rules (15A NCAC 18A .2650-.2676) that replaces the current .2600 rules (15A NCAC 18A .2601-.2645).  These rules will be effective September 1, 2012 for all food service establishments.  This document is 22 pages, click link below to download.

North Carolina Food Code Manual

This document is the 2009 FDA Food Code with North Carolina’s amendments, additions, and deletions (Rules .2651-.2658). Additions and amendments are designated by underlining such text and sections of the 2009 Food Code that have been deleted are designated by “DELETED.” Again, this is the primary resource that will be used for inspections and compliance.  This is a larger document if printing.  This document is 232 pages, please click link below to download.
